Sophie and Emily

I can't believe that Sophie is almost eight! She has grown up so fast! She is a great kid who tries so hard to make good choices! She loves American Girl dolls, making crafts, playing with her friends, piano, The Disney Channel, her baby brother, shopping, swimming and her cousins!

This is a photo of her cousin Emily. It was taken by Lori. ( look at her blog...there is a link from mine ) Sophie and Emily do not live in the same state, but luckily her parents come here often. We have so much fun when Emily comes to visit! Sophie and Emily usually play for 10 hours straight and they never fight! They imagine and create and have a wonderful time together. It is so fun to watch them and to see how much they love each other! I am so proud of you, Sophie for the sweet girl you are and the little lady that you are becoming! You make your parents proud!

24th of July

These photos give no clue to the adventure we had last night! We had a great time at a BBQ and swim party with friends and some family. Charlie is quickly learning to "swim" while using his waterwings. He did not want to get into the pool last night because he has a cut on his big toe from swimming and jumping into the pool. Over the coarse of the evening he warmed up to the idea and decided to get in. He was just sitting on the steps and playing with his cousin Max. I was right there watching him the entire time...... BUT...... he started following Max into the pool and I did not realize his water wings were not on. All of a sudden I watched him start to sink down into the water with his eyes wide open and I froze!! I screamed to another adult in the pool to grab him, but he was stunned too. The next thing I knew Charlie Sr. jumped in with his clothes on and got him!! I was weak in the knees and quite shaken up. Little Charlie was only upset that water got in his eyes! He immediately wanted to get back into the pool.

We made sure to put the wings on and he and Daddy had a great swim together. It was a very scary moment and made me realize once again just how fragile life is. It all happened so quickly and I was right there. I am so thankful that it all turned out alright and as you can see from this photo, he was no worse for the wear.

"L" is for light black

Little Charlie is becoming obsessed with coloring! He colors or "chalks" all day long! He is so persistant with it that he has a little blister on his thumb from the markers. He was drawing me a picture and he asked me if I liked " light black"? It was in all actuality a brown marker. I thought it was so sweet that his little mind worked that way. I guess it also shows that I wear too much black! I love the minds of little ones. They are so fun to be around!

The world of blogging

I just have to laugh! My brother has a blog and I read a little blurb about myself on it. He was talking about blogging becoming the new scrap booking. He was so disguested about it, and I had to laugh. He is an avid biker, skiier, and outdoors man. I am a picture-taking soccer mom in a mini van. My world revolves around playdates, piano, play dough, pools, puke and pizza.

I personally love that I can " scrap book " online. I think it is a great outlet and also a good way to document little lives. I guess the old saying rings true... " to each their own."

So excited for this blog!

I am so happy to be part of the blog world! I owe a huge thank you to Nicole for creating this blog and getting it started for me. I am going to try to keep this updated and fun! I will now need to learn how to put pictures on and I will be all set. As any of you who know me well, once I learn how to post pictures there will be more than anyone cares to look at!

Our summer has been wonderful! We started out with two trips, one to Chicago with just Charlie and I for our tenth wedding anniversary and then we came home, got the kids and went to Disneyland with our friends, the Ericksons! It was a blast and our families had so much fun! Little Charlie keeps telling me out of the blue how much he loved it there! It was great! We also went to Newport and had a day at the American Girl Place. We ate lunch there and had a great time.

We have spent nearly every day since our return swimming and playing! It's been great. We had a really fun American Girl party that my friend, Heather and I threw for the neighborhood girls and I will post pics once I learn how to.

We are anxiously awaiting Sophie's eighth birthday at the Lion House and her baptism. I can't believe that she is that old!

Charlie potty- trained himself this summer and he will turn three in August, so more parties are in our future! We have had a blast so far and feel really blessed for our lives!

A day for fun!

I am starting to feel better again post-surgery, so what better way to celebrate than a day at the mall? We went to go and get some new summer clothes for Sophie and left with one of those amazing ceramic hair straighteners. ( it is really cool because it curls hair too! ) Sophie, little Charlie and I were also happy to have Uncle Adam meet us there for a bit too! We did get some summer clothes as well!!

We came home had dinner and then went for a walk around the block. Normally this is not a big deal that I would write about, but today it was!! I went pretty slow, but a walk it was none-the-less.

We like to sit on the grass at night and roll the ball back and forth to each other. When this occurs, I realize that little Charlie is definitely a boy. He always tends to want to turn it into a wrestling match. ( poor Sophie)

It was a really fun day and I felt the most normal I have in a month, so like I said it was a day for fun!
